Hello and welcome back, everyone!
Off The Page AZ is back in business for charity event visits and appearances! We missed everyone terribly throughout the height of COVID. As a group, we have taken necessary precautions to help stop the spread. As most of us are educators, most of us have at least received the two doses of the COVID vaccine. In addition, we do make sure to carry around hand sanitizer to our events/appearances and use it often. November, December, and January are particularly busy months. If you'd like us to attend an event, please make sure to fill out our Event Request Form under the Contact tab. We will do our very best to coordinate and let you know if we can or cannot attend. Either way, you will get a response from us about your event request. Stay tuned for upcoming events! It'll be a very busy few months! We hope to see you soon! Have a magical day! This post has been long overdue. With the COVID-19 virus spreading like wildfire here in Arizona (and no lockdown in sight), we at Off The Page have postponed/cancelled all upcoming events until this has all blown over. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but everyone's health and safety always comes first.
Please STAY HOME if you're given the choice to. If you venture off into a public place, please shower immediately, dispose of clothing and wash them right away, and disinfect everything you touched on your way back into your home. Practice social distancing if you must see friends and relatives. Not only will you be helping yourself, but also helping those people around you. Finally, please wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. May we suggest singing the chorus of "When You Wish Upon A Star"? Don't "speed sing" through it. Sing it at the pace it was created. It goes like this: When you wish upon a star Makes no difference who you are Anything your heart desires will come to you If your heart is in your dream No request is too extreme When you wish upon a star As dreamers do Fate is kind We hope to see everyone soon. Until then, please stay home, stay safe. And a big THANK YOU to our brave healthcare workers and other essential employees who are on the frontlines during this pandemic. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you daily, multiple times. We're so happy to announce that we are now volunteering our time and talents with Kids Need To Read! Kids Need To Read, also known as KNTR for short, is a non-profit corporation whose mission is: "to create a culture of reading for children by providing inspiring books to underfunded schools, libraries, and literacy programs across the United States, especially those serving disadvantaged children." All of us at Off The Page found their mission similar to ours and reached out to KNTR to tell them what we do. Having met the volunteer and events coordinator at Tempe LibCon, we were able to introduce ourselves and get contact information. Reaching out again to further explain what Off The Page does, they got excited to include us in some of their events! One of those events are their Literacy Nights! We had our first Literacy Night at Lowell Elementary School in Mesa and wow! It was a hit! Rapunzel and Snow White were able to hand out books alongside Kids Need To Read, while students read some excerpts from their favorite Dr. Seuss books! Rapunzel and Snow White had such a great time and cannot wait to participate in another! The next Literacy Night they will be attending with KNTR is at Ignacio Conchos School. These events are for the students and families of the particular schools they are held at and are not public events. For those events, please check our Facebook events page! Until then, we will be visiting more schools for their private Literacy Nights! Thank you for allowing us to join you at these fantastic events, Kids Need To Read! Happy New Year 2020! Off The Page already has a lot of exciting things coming up this year. However, let's look back at a couple events we went to, but didn't mention yet!
Off The Page AZ attended a special holiday event after receiving a gracious invitation. Some of our princesses were able to make the trip and had a wonderful time sharing memories with everyone. They also were able to attend Phoenix Fan Fusion 2019 and held a Princess Story Time event and Art Hour! Be on the lookout for us next at the Apache Junction LibCon 2020! We will have a booth this time around. So come by and say hello! Hope to see you all there! Off The Page will be in attendance at this year's World Down syndrome Day 2019 in partnership with the Down Syndrome Network of Phoenix, Gigi's Playhouse of Phoenix, and the Phoenix Children's Hospital. It will take place on March 17, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information about this event, please visit our event page found on Facebook by clicking here!
Off The Page will be making their very first appearance at Enchanted Island Amusement Park on February 23, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You must RSVP with the event coordinator. Please find her name and email address at the bottom of our event page (that can be found here). Hope to see you there for a day of fun!
